Rappaccini’s Compendium is a collaborative art-book between various artists with the goal of celebrating character design, art-style diversity and the fascinating world of poisonous flora. Inspired by the tale ‘Rappaccini’s Daughter’, it explores the psyche and reflections of a mad scientist’s daughter kept in captivity in a garden brimming with poisonous flowers and fungi. This compendium was developed between 2019 and 2020 with the collaboration of 54 artists worldwide who have brought these characters to life based on the characteristics and traits of each plant, dressing their creations in natural motifs and fairytale-like wonder to take you on a marvellous voyage through Rappacini’s collection.
